Heather by Conan Gray Review
First, I haven’t heard this song until yesterday but this song has been quite popular and have popped up in my recommendations for the past few months in youtube. But due to other videos, to which my subconscious brain set a high priority, I could say that maybe I didn’t have time to watch nor was I interested as a whole.But I was curious what “Heather” meant, and so I decided to google the meaning of it to find that it is a low wild plant that grows especially on hills and land that is not farmed and has small purple, pink or white flowers. And I liked the title just by this scenario and I was like it’s amazing and sure it has some new poetic term which is going to describe something and on top of it, I have learned something new.But still, I didn’t bother to listen to the song.
Then in the evening, me and my lovely friends went for a walk and decided to take rest for a while and found ourselves a seat.Then my friends decided to play music as a source of relaxation to brain and the first song they could think of is “Heather”. They both said that they really loved that song very much and it’s very soothing to listen, especially the line, “Third of December”. Me who did some research on the topic the previous day, told them that I know the meaning of that word and it means a plant with purple flowers.They both immediately corrected me saying, the word “Heather” in this song, refers to the name a girl who is as sweet as angel.They explained that this song is about a guy liking another guy but that other guy likes another girl named “Heather” and she is a sweet girl with barely any flaws.And the song is about the singer wishing that he was her.Well they played the song, it was so damn soothing and magical literally.On my way back, I was thinking about that song.
And coming back to home, I played this song on loop and the melody, the lyrics and the meaning were so beautiful.And his angelic voice in pre chorus is “Damn”. We all have “Heathers” in our lives right, and how badly we wish that we were them.We all like them, since Heather is a such angelic person but at the same time hate the fact.In the song, the way he describes her is so beautiful.I also had like two to three “Heathers” in my life and when I look at them, I feel like I am not even “half as pretty” nor gifted with skills as they are.But guys, you are so damn perfect and so you don’t have to feel that. It’s just we all feel that way and that’s okay. We can overcome it anytime we want with our own flashlight.
And guys if you hadn’t listened to that song yet, I highly recommend you to listen to it since it’s such a beautiful piece of art work and makes your feel “blues and butterflies”(if that makes sense). And a perfect song to listen in winter. Alright guys, it’s time for me to listen to that song again and so take care and good-bye.
